7:00 Master Gardener Lecture:  " Wisconsin Gardens in the Victorian Age"
Why did great-great grandma grow oyster-plant in her vegatable garden? What kind of flowers did she consider essential around her front door--and where did she get them? How was her garden different from yours? Or was it? Lee  Somerville will answer these questions and more using illustrations of Wisconsin gardens from the mid-to-late Victorian Age. Free. Ken and Barb Wardius, authors of Wisconsin Lighthouses A Photographic and Historical Guide will present a slide/lecture that highlights many of Wisconsin ’s historical beacons.  Their  program  features many historical images in a combination of lecture, story telling and music.
