Snow... useful snow, means that trail management at Crossroads
changes a bit. Winter trails are designated for specific uses. Trails designated for skiing are clearly marked
and groomed. The trails are tracked for traditional cross country skiing and rolled for skate skiing. We ask that
people (and dogs) avoid walking on the ski trails, please.
But walking is still encouraged. Hiking trails (which lead to some of the prettiest areas of the preserve) are
also groomed, so hikers, pet walkers and runners can enjoy the winter wonderland without having to trudge through
deep snow. Leashed pets are welcome at Crossroads. Dog Walking/Hiking Trails are clearly marked. And if you want
to leave the trails, on snowshoes or on foot, you are welcome to do so.
The public is welcome to use the Crossroads trails for
gentle recreation.
| Pets are welcome (if their owners keep the trails clean).
Nature programs are free and open to the public (unless otherwise noted.) Hikes will be cancelled if it is raining
hard enough for autos to apply wind shield wipers. |
